Bankyfield is the home of Suzanne and Philip Norris. It is a Grade II listed Georgian town house built in 1814 with many of the original features remaining. It is a welcoming and comfortable home full of personal touches with shells from the Red Sea, Iona and Orkney and pebbles from Greek Islands, souvenirs from our travels.
We have just one guest bedroom overlooking the garden, it has orthopaedic beds and shelves crammed with books local and otherwise. The adjoining private bathroom has a bath, shower, hand basin and lavatory.
The kitchen with dark blue Aga leads out to the walled garden with it’s courtyard. In the summer tea and scones are served here on you arrival. Ptolemy, the resident cocker spaniel may join you there!
For breakfast we offer a range of cereals together with a large bowl of fruit including produce from the garden in season. There is a wide choice of homemade marmalades, jams and jellies together with locally produced honey.
We had guests from all five continents last year, their comments have included:
A lovely quiet place to spend some time.
